On 15th October, I was one of the 5 speakers at *ISIM, Mysore University. (*ISIM = International School of Information Management) Here, I talked briefly about "Social Entrepreneurship", along with a small talk on "Weekend Nuts". It was a wonderful experience, especially meeting the thought-provoking speakers & enthusiastic students. I have to thank my mentor: Prof.Nandini.Vaidyanathan for providing this lovely opportunity to me! & she just rocks!
On 19th September 2010, 'Weekend Nuts' celebrated "Photography Excursion" @ Janapada Loka, Mysore Road
...And it was one of our best memories so far :)

What we did? Learned photography tips &; tricks from Sam, Networked with other like minded photography lovers, clicked tons of photographs and had LOTS of FUN throughout!
Fun = insane photography, chit-chat, Q&A, Time-pass in bus, Antakshari, Lunch@Kamat, value-added-networking ... It was just awesome!

Agenda: Hit Bangalore roads tomorrow and distribute goodies to the less-fortunate-ones on road/Traffic Signal! The receiver? Anybody: A poor kid, a distressed beggar, a road-side vendor, Weekend-worker, a sun-tanned Traffic Cop - absolutely anybody!
Date, Time, Place: 8th May 2010,Saturday; 2pm IST @ Cubbon Park, Bangalore.
The “Smiley Day” Story: Our bags were full of goodies and hearts were full of smiles!
On3 bikes, the 6 enthusiasts from Weekend Nuts set off for “Smiley Day” celebration!
At Cubbon Park was the initial photography session from mighty Sam, Abdul Noushad, Vipin and Mayank.
Then, We started from Cubbon Park towards Majestic; distributing goodies to all the small time road-side vendors in Sun. They were as happy to receive our goodies, as happy were we to distribute it to them.
Chocolates, Biscuits, juice, buttermilk, …. We started handing out these goodies to every needy n tired person en route!
Best experience was that with the traffic cops – who were delighted to see us doing this and we got a lot of smiles from them!
And yes, in the over crowded streets of majestic area, Vipin and Mayank almost got separated from the rest of us. But later, we retrieved them from the upper park police station; well, just kidding! That was the common area of meet up.
True to its name, “Smiley Day” was full of “Smile-sharing”… despite of the scorching sun and horrendous heat! Probably, that’s why the "Hopcom’s mango juice" was such a relief @ Cubbon park! (Thanks Sam)
Later, we moved to the MG road/Church street area – on feet, leaving our bikes behind.
And that was good too! The road side vendors & traffic cops were again our prime focus to spread smiles.
After we emptied all our goodies, it was time to munch yummy food and sip strong coffee @ Indian Coffee house! Scrambled Egg and whatever cutlet is a MUST-TASTE thingy at this “Indian Coffee house”.
Thanks to Sam, this was the first time that Benand Ruu visited this place… and loved it too!
So, this is how we, the Weekend Nuts, celebrated “Smiley Day” !

loads of smiley in abt 2 hrs... a very satisfying hr, some touching moments and signed off with a yummy bite at COFFEE HOUSE :)
Smiley Day is a Weekend Nuts initiative towards ‘Giving back to Community’!
Ways we celebrate Smiley Day: Children’s day out, Morning at Old-age home, Timeout with the differently-abled, Clothes collection drive, Books collection for the needy etc…
